The bottom of the basket is made of wood for extra support; it's smooth and not painted. It ensures that your baby sleeps on a flat, firm surface as advised by the Lullaby Trust. General Advice: When choosing a Moses basket, ensure it provides a snug, cosy environment and is breathable. A firm mattress is vital for safe sleep. Moses baskets are suitable from birth up to around 6 months of age and max. 9kg of weight. When your baby starts rolling over and/or can sit up, then Moses basket is no longer recommended.
